  • I have observed it first hand from many different angles and spoken to many people with different perspectives and have not been able to detect any progress whatsoever in terms of black liberation of black rights as a result of BLM. Fred Hampton said: the solution to White Capitalism is not Black Capitalism; the solution to White Capitalism is Socialism. The BLM movement promoted exactly that: “black-capitalism”, and as such, has not contributed in any real changes in the material conditions of the black population, even though it may have made a few individuals rich. This is how the establishment convinces us that progress is being made, when really it is not. Black liberation and the liberation of ALL minority groups and even working class white people will not happen as a result of “anti-racism” and whatever other creative concoctions of social justice people try to promote, but rather with the actualization of socialism, and that alone. We do not need to separate it into several smaller “sub-movements” as these only serve to divide the masses and make us more manipulable by the ruling class.

  • Instead of downvoting, try to offer some insights. That’s what this community is for.

That being said, my opinion has slightly shifted as I gathered more information. Considering how the US jumped at the opportunity to back Boluarte, I’m sensing that Castillo may have posed that slightest threat to the imperialist-backed oligarchy. He also stood up for his people by condemning her and the treatment of protestors, which I admire.

It’s possible that, as others have said, he was well-intentioned but was constrained by the fascist establishment that dominates Peru’s government, such that he was not able to make any progress. But even then, you get no credit for making no progress, even if you are well-intentioned, in my personal opinion. But if he in some way prevented a backslide into even deeper fascism, then that’s worth applauding, although whether that is the case and to what extent, we may never know.

The main point of this is: don’t just align yourself in a black-and-white fashion to whavever side seems to be Leftist or whatever. There are plenty of well-disguided reactionary movements, and this is exactly what the establishment loves to see, at is cripples the progress of the real leftist movement and causes division among the working class.

  • I’d be downvoted to oblivion if I say this anywhere else, but I think this community is a safe space for such ideas.

The best way to get involved in the ongoing struggle for communism (via ML’ism, also known as scientific socialism, and as yet the only proven form of socialism in practice) is to support China. Study their history, the revolution, and the current political structure of the country and the progress they are making in the various aspects of society such as poverty alleviation, infrastructure, environment, and developing the living standards of people across all social classes. Just as the world was divided into second world and third world during the cold war, so it is once again, and developing countries will be forced to choose – the US, by selling out their country to imperialism, or China, a path towards socialism and liberation from imperialism. Sure, it’s possible to carve out a new path to socialism, but countries who try to do so will struggle more than is necessary. By allying with China, as many countries in Africa and Latin America are doing, they offer themselves a direct route out, a more peaceful route which will not require a bloody revolution, but a slow and strategic shift in diplomacy.

What’s your role in all this? When the revolution does come to your country, you’ll have the knowledge you need to play a significant role in it, having learned how socialist society works in practice in another part of the world.

If you happen to be based in the imperialist core, I’m sorry to say, I don’t think that revolution will come any time soon.

  • Despite what you may be immediately inclined to think, this map is not uninformative. It offers a distinction between the countries and territories that bow down to the US-led imperial narrative and those who don’t. While the red countries aren’t all necessarily socialist, they evidently pose a threat to capitalist interest are are therefore worth studying. These are countries that are most likely friendly with China or are seen as more likely to be influenced by China in the coming years, and for those of us here, I think we can agree that that is trend in the right direction.

  • r/Communism is full of Gonzaloite Maoists.

What’s the general stance of ML’s on Gonzalo? I’m a little unclear on him and his movement. Been asking around and getting mixed responses. Obviously considering it failing miserably in the end, he cannot be considered successful, but was the movement flawed fundamentally, of just undermined by Fujimori’s inhumane dictatorship?

Also, good to know about SLS, although it’s kind of disappointing to see so much division amongst the Left.
