192·2 years agoYeah it’s the TLD for Mali. But I imagine Lemmy Devs chose it for Marxism-Leninism. The same way .io is for the British Indian Ocean Territory but is heavily used by tech companies.

Probably, but it’s significantly more difficult to set up and maintain, and introduces new problems. I’m sure it’ll be considered once they reach the limits of what a single node can handle.
And this is why I love my sysadmin job. Figuring out how (and when) to scale applications is a challenge but very rewarding

It would’ve been amazing if existing apps (Apollo) redeveloped their app to work with Lemmy instead. This would’ve dented reddits userbase for sure
