At the moment Im using Fedilab . since its easy to switch between Friendica and Mastodon and Pixelfed accounts. But I also dip into Jerboa and often use the Friendica web interface.
I’ve ended up moving to Friendica as my primary Fedi account because I can get Lemmy communities, RSS and Pixelfed, Mastodon and other ActivityFed accounts all from the one account.
I still drip into Lemmy directly ( Like now ) because I haven’t added all my subscribed communities… and actually I haven’t added any Perrtune ones yet. I gotta find some to watch.
What I would love is if Fedilab or other held a buffer of recent posts from Frendica on my phone for when I’m stuck on a plane.
Yeah thats why I would like to try somehow…before I buy lol.
My alternative is to have a small UPS plugging in to the mains supply. Im not looking to riun a house off solar but a few devices, routers and other bits. Because im not sure what kind of Watt Hours I would get and what performance would be like I am hesitant to ‘invest’.
I am happy to accept that ‘actual results may differ’ but an idea of potential would be useful. I was thinking a small 30watt panel with a usb logger plugged into a usb fan or cup warmer or something as a test.
Just picking up a conversation a few months ago. I was wondering if Im over complicating this. I think the takeout from earlier conversations were ‘Install conduit’ i think a 12V DC supply + Ethernet + separate conduit for AC power…
but… I also found POE injectors that look like thry take 12v as an input. (So potentially could run things from a battery/ solar supply ) https://a.aliexpress.com/_EG8apjq
Im not sure if they would be suitable though.
Yeah separate conduit for AC and DC goes without saying.
Maybe a dumb thought but I just realised if Lemmy does RSS maybe I could add Lemmy feeds to my Friendica account. ??
Cheers yeah that completely makes sense. One reason I asked is that I run multiple SSIDs and some policy based routing so I thought that avoiding the complexity of another router might be an idea.
Id love to find a #creditunion that supported #openbanking and offered API access to my data so I could easily download it and use it with Actual or FireflyIII. I think working with a credit union to build this feature would be a great open source project.
You can turn on Firefox’s offer to translate sites in another language in Settings > Translation
Ah cheers yeah may consider but goot.at least 10 gmail accounts amd counting to deal with.
Yeah i think thats where I got to. Maybe #Fedilab needs to add Lemmy support.
Haha yeah thats the one Im using now.
Oh this could be interesting… Reading #Reddit in #friendica
You don’t need to say the things that are really true only the things that aren’t.
Yeah . I dont think we will move their primary.email addresses from Gmail but mainly use their accounts for identity purposes with self hosting and backup / storage of emails rather than paying Google.
Who knows though …I meqn on q VPS im using an email server at moment to collaborate work with friends. It wouldn’t be mission critical … just family critical.
Cheers I guess #gmail will always be around but I just don’t want to have the family start paying if we can move emails to storage and maybe slowly transition away.
