    For sure, the rail system in China is simple recognition of the fact that moving goods and people around is the core of the economy. Population centres close to trade routes grow, and those that are far away from trade wither. A high speed rail network ensures that economic activity is evenly spread across the country, this leading to the standard of living and development growing evenly.

      Funnily how even the worst western historians do know that in context of let’s say ancient Asia and Europe, but once the modern means of transportation appears it all turns into “moar profit”
