Have a regular circle where people work on repairing stuff that people bring in. People can learn from each how to do repairs and use collective tools. It can also serve as a social gathering

With fliers or over internet people in the neighborhood can be alerted to this service, and can bring whatever needs to be repaired. Perhaps a Patreon could be setup to help sponsor the repair circle.

As someone that is “good with computers” I am always persuading people to let me take a look at their laptops and PCs rather than just buying new ones.

So often an SSD and a fresh Windows install makes the machine feel brand new.

I collect broken laptops, old PCs and such so I have spare RAM and the like for upgrades.

I also try to persuade people to buy refurbished business machines like Lenovo Thinkpads rather than buying new. They are cheap, built to last and really easy to service.

I encourage anyone that can fix a thing to do the same. I feel like we already have enough electronics in the world, the upgrade cycle is just out of control these days.
