Sometimes I like to cruise the politics sub so I can drive by downvote libs and report them for breaking their precious civility rule, and honestly, I’ve gotten a decent amount of them banned for it, which is hilarious.

That is all

I wish libs would stop pretending they support free speech

Nobody really supports free speech for their political enemies, but libs are the only ones sanctimonious to pretend they do

I saw one the other day talking about how the Nazis that recently rallied should be allowed to because the poster “fought and bled for this country so they could”. Motherfucker, were you in WWII? No? Huh.

Everyone loves to pretend they’re open to debate. Nobody wants to admit to being closed minded. You need to be receptive with a well-rehersed rebuttal.

But this invites sea lioning, which everyone agrees is obnoxious. So the argument eventually becomes “I’m up for informed debate, but you’re not engaging seriously.”

That’s where all this stuff ends, and it illustrates the limits of any discourse.

That opinion’s validated in the federated instances when discussing politics by prima facie invalidating opinions from hexbear users as “trolls” or “tankies”.

Do they pretend to support free speech for their enemies? Or do they pretend that the people they support free speech for are their enemies?

The Evelyn Beatrice Hall line, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”?

Disapproval is not opposition. That’s absolutely pretence of enemy status.

Getting libs banned? I think it’s hilarious

Also, I love the idea of them being forsaken by their echo chamber and I love when their precious rules can be used to bite them in the ass. Yes, it’s petty, but I don’t care. I’m usually just standing in line somewhere or on break at work when I’m doing it

Chuds do use it. But it’s a valid observation, libs tunnel vision on Trump to a huge degree. On the other hand, chuds usually suffer Trans Derangement Syndrome where they’re so tunnel visioned on their transphobia they’d vote for politicians who hate them (see: Catholic Latines voting for republicans).

There’s a couple of things CHUDs are right about. TDS and you shouldn’t trust the media. The last one is for different reasons, but whatchagonnado?

It’s probably worth pointing out that chuds virtually never use it for valid observations, even when they’re talking about people who genuinely are hyperfocused on Trump. When I see it used in Fox News comments, it’s a near-meaningless term for all Trump criticism

Yea they did something halfway clever then drove it into the ground.

It’s dumb that libs act like Trump is about to get arrested.

It’s also dumb for chyds to act like it’s an unnatural obsession for people to get mad when Trump says explicitly fascist shit.

I can see where you’re coming from. I probably wouldn’t say it outside of hexbear. The explanation of how I’m not a right wing nutjob would eclipse the usefulness of the word. And really, it’s probably not worth engaging with people that “have TDS” because you will go nowhere. They have every thought terminating cliche you can think of at the ready.

They invented it but what else do you call it when the front page of r/politics has been half a dozen articles about how Trump is 48 hours away from a jail cell for 6 years.

Blue MAGA is absolutely a thing.

I’m not saying they’re equally fash but there’s deffinitly a lot of similarity between the people posting pictures of Trump being a jacked shirtless action movie star and the people talking about bidenomics and using the dark Brandon meme unironically.

Also try criticizing Biden for anything and see how much those libs actually support you, for a lot of minorities the only real difference is when there’s a dem president libs tell them to stop complaining because it’s making them look bad.

Not sure there’s a lot of meaningful difference between the chuds and the libs giddy about the idea of throwing you to the chuds because you said Biden wasn’t pro union.

Wish I could find the liberals you interact with the ones i talk to write you off as a republican if you say it was bad for Biden to break up the rail strike.

I got banned for saying billionaires shouldn’t exist. I didn’t even state execution, just that they shouldn’t exist and that using force is a legit approach. Never bothered to make another account because the karma shit is so tedious lol, I’m happy that site is tanking ngl

Once in a while I make an account to follow some niche subs or to find mycology information. It always makes me wander back into /r/politics so I can make some libs heads explode though…eventually I get banned. The weird part is, I never call names, I never swear, I only make comments to counter stupid lib shit, and I get got every time.

whataboutism is so funny because neither side will ever admit to using whataboutism but will always point it out against one another never ending game of tennis
