I would really like to work in a tech coop. I’ve been job hunting the last couple of weeks and it didn’t even strike me to look into coops. Thanks for posting this and reminding me.
It’s hard to find jobs in co-ops because they are nice jobs to have. Good luck though, and please share your experience on this community if you have any success.
You’re right. I’ll probably have to work a while longer before I’m valuable enough for a co-op.
Awesome! Do you work with any of these by any chance? I’m really looking for someone who has worked in a small worker cooperative or has helped to start a coop. I’ve got so many questions as it’s my dream to start one some day.
No actually I would love to but in Italy (as far as I know) the idea is not that spread yet. BTW I would really love to start one as well.
It’s fascinating because I’m from the UK where it’s reasonably widespread but I still only learnt about them as an adult! We should really learn about these things in school.
I think both the right wing and some groups of far-left state socialists prevent cooperatives, even successful ones, from gaining the platform they deserve to share their business model with the world.
I really envy you, I’m doing some research about Italian tech coops for a-soon-to-be Awesome List for TWC Italia and I found four so far (three of which come from this list :'D).
Thanks for posting this. I actually already knew some of them but not most. I wish there was a linkedin that is open/libre made for ethical tech jobs.
