Google has decided to take away the option to choose a default camera in Android 11 in the name of security.

      I’m not as optimistic as you are. To me it seems that Google will continue to push their control especially if you take a look at Fuchsia and Flutter. They really want to be Apple.

    wow, that’s a pretty huge change. Hopefully they’ll revert this as people are rightfully upset with this.

    Really hate these kind of changes. You can remove anything in the name of security, if you claim your users to be stupid enough.

    Actively stupid in this case, I presume. I mean, wouldn’t they need to go into the settings themselves and manually switch it to another app? (And if this is not the case, then why not change it to require that?)
    So, they would not only need to be stupid, they would also have to be smart enough to go into the settings and change this option. If they manage that, I don’t think, you can stop them from shooting themselves in the foot.
