I dunno, damn computers are expensive. Glad that my 10yo machine is still chugging along.
I would never pay that much for a graphics card. I would simply wait 3-5 years and get the same one used for 100 bucks. But I don’t know what you want to do with it.
same. I’m doing a budget dual xeon 2650 v4 workstation. My mobo from aliexpress (zx-du99d4x8) doesn’t seem to fit in any case. So I may have to make one out of some furniture or something.
You definitely dont need an 850w PSU.
I would hold out_for a ryzen 6000 and DDR5 if I was gonna spend that much on a build today. I would even advise getting a laptop with more modern specs for that amount of money unless you were gonna add a bunch of HDDs which it doesn’t look like you’re gonna be doing.

Certainly better than what I plan to make thats for sure
Me and my dad own a 5800X PC that we put together. It’s pretty good and we haven’t maxed out the CPU yet. My bro owns a Dell gaming PC with a 6800 XT. He hasn’t maxed that out either.
Are you planning on playing new, graphics-heavy games on Windows? Using CAD software? Rendering movie-length videos in HD? Compiling browsers from source? If it isn’t one or more of these, the build is probably overkill.

I am playing to make some HD videos (not movie length though). Also, I might end up compiling some browsers from source (I am interesting in developing a web browser).
You should ask in a bigger forum somewhere where people really have experience with building computers. They have proper builds that are tested etc :)
Well, then it seems like a reasonable build to me, although I’m not very knowledgeable about well-performing, higher-end computers. As mentioned by sexy_peach, the graphics card is a bit on the expensive side.
