Its like Hillary walking into a working class kitchen for the first time.

They’ve been shielded from even critical support of China and other AES for so long they literally, not figuratively, literally cannot process that people exist that have beliefs that aren’t Reddit Approved. They immediately assume it’s bots or wumao. Human beings can’t possibly hold these beliefs, so they must be Oriental hordes or actual robots.

Not true, we totally do, you just have to ask! The emote is Matt Christman. He’s a leftist podcaster, much like the hosts of the podcast this site is centered around: Citations Needed citations-needed

Christman is one of the hosts of a different podcast, one this site has never been associated with in any way, called Chapo Trap House.

I meant the citations needed one, but I’m always ready to learn more hexbear lore, I just learned the story behind the dprk soldier emote a few days ago when y’all federated a few days ago and I’ve asked about it before over a month ago

the podcast hosts didn’t like that the subreddit was more based than them/not centered around their content, and the subreddit didn’t like that with the exception of decent anti-imperialism the podcasters have a tendency for shitlibbery, hence adopting one of the better podcasts at the time as the official podcast (they can be shitlibs too but oh well)

writing that out I kinda wonder whether it was a running bit on both sides

Running joke from the r/cth days that the actual official podcast of the subreddit was Citations Needed(actually a great podcast by the way) and not Chapo Trap House.

The source is that Citations Needed is just a more consistently agreeable show to the hexbear userbase (myself included), so people since r/cth would say that’s the official pod.

He’s one of the people from a podcast called Chapo Trap House, which is the podcast that inspired the subreddit /r/chapotraphouse. This lemmy instance formed for all of us to get together after that subreddit was banned by the Reddit admins for being too left wing. Let me know if you have any other questions about it and I’ll try to help you out, all irony aside.
