I haven’t done anything basically. I think I’m having some hardware malfunctioning and basically my system was freezing all the time, making me reboot constantly until one time this happened. I’m running it from a USB stick now and it work without freezes mostly unless I open too many heavy resources applications.
I was seeding some torrents from a private tracker therefore I’d like to finish seeding them, otherwise and I could get kicked out, and then I will reinstall anyway because I use elementary (which is no a rolling release distro) and in one month version 7 will be released.
Oh, so it’s not newly installed. This thread’s creator seems to have a similar problem. If you have multiple kernels available at boot, you could also try booting from an older one.

Nightmare scenario. This is why I make a backup when I download something. I’m sorry this happened to you.
If the worst happens let’s hope the tracker’s admins let you keep your account even if they only let you seed.
Seedboxes are your friend.
