The PLO began their campaign of armed attacks in support of a Palestinian homeland in 1965, and over the ensuing 60 years they and their successors such as Hamas have achieved absolutely nothing. On the contrary, Israel is stronger than ever and continues to expand illegal settlements. And now no-one really cares … including the Arab states like Egypt and Saudi Arabia who were once staunch supporters of the Palestinians. Maybe it’s time for them to rethink their strategy, because this one doesn’t seem to be working. I support an independent Palestine but I’ve given up hope of seeing it in my lifetime.

There is another option. A worldwide campaign to impose sanctions and isolate Israel could work. It worked brilliantly for the ANC in South Africa. But few countries are prepared to be seen supporting Palestinians while their militants murder Israelis.

Unconditional US support is the basically the key reason Israel is able to do what they do. US funds the regime in Israel, provides it with weapons, and shields it at the UN. Only way the apartheid will end is once US is no longer able to prop it up.

Earlier in the same day, Israeli forces killed 20-year-old Mohammad Suleiman Mazara near the illegal Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim in occupied East Jerusalem. Israeli forces claimed that Mazara had shot at Israeli settlers present in the area at the time, injuring at least six people.

“Claimed” my ass, why must reporting from the Palestinian side always be so biased?
