Ok so this shit has been making me sick to my stomach as of late, but recently, I keep seeing these memes popping up in various social media feeds about a genre called “NATOwave”. Basically worshipping NATO and western imperialism. It’s fucking cringe. NATO and America have been responsible for raiding and raping countless many nations: Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. and these people, who probably didn’t know/didn’t care wtf a NATO was before this Ukraine situation, let alone these BurgerLanders being able to point to fucking Ukraine on a map prior to this conflict unless they played S.T.A.L.K.E.R, but now all of a sudden their chanting “OO SS AY OO SS AY OO SS AYY LESS GO NATO” as if NATO is a fucking football team. The meteoric rise of propaganda in these times, from various news outlets/personalities who were still on the fence about the situation in Ukraine to going lockstep with the “slava ukraini” brigade, to displaying images from other countries like Syria and even games like War Thunder as images/events from Ukraine is just, well it’s not unexpected but it’s still shocking nonetheless.

    We have come to a point where the system has the propagandized making its own propaganda, and being more effective than the actual fucking system.

    Or may be it’s not propaganda that is doing it, perhaps it’s these people realizing their relative comfort is predicated upon imperialism and the theft of others’ resources

      While I started to understand marxism, reading theory and stuff for the first time I remember that point where I understood that my own welfare(by that I mean the affluence, like, the cheap imported foods and goods, etc) was only possible through the exploitation of the third world. I have to admit it was a struggle, a moral one, to take the stand that all that cheap electronic that I enjoyed so much through my youth was absolutely not worth the horrors inflicted upon the rest of the world to make them available to our privledged masses. You get some kind of moment where you’re like “it’s ‘my team’ that’s winning and they are providing me so much, am I ingrate, am I ruining something they built that’s worth preserving?”, but if you seek truth you can’t face it any other way than to realize it’s wrong, deeply wrong, and it ought to be smashed.
