Welcome again to everybody! Make yourself at home <3 In the time honoured tradition of our group, here is our weekly discussion thread!

Subreddit archive is available here: https://tankies.la/archive and is updated (probably later today), however it is still heavily under construction and you should expect continued disruptions/changes in usability of the page over the coming weeks. Be warned, it’s like marxists.org level of web design as I’m only interested in it working, not its appearance rn.

One of my million cacti just started growing flowers. I did not know it could do that, so it looks really cool.

ooh fellow cactus enjoyer. they almost all will produce beautiful flowers once they are established and happy. here is my Trichocereus Grandiflorus a few weeks ago.

Note I know that trichocereus has been moved into echinopsis and i don’t care because i don’t agree with the reclassification of that genus

Here are my baby carnegia gigantea. I have a ton of cacti

Man those look great. How big is that pot with the red flowers? It looks like a cool desert of itself. I’m glad to hear that my cactus is happy. I’m happy with it too.

I googled the tiny cute ones and I saw pictures of 20 meter high cacti. Are those the same ones lol?

lol yes. those tiny little ones will be monsters long after i’m dead. they grow their first arm around 75 years i think. the one with the red flowers is in 2.5x0.5m circle I built out of logs. I use it like a raised planter. There are a bunch of beautiful plants in there :) I live in the desert, they’re happy
