I made this post because I really like the design of GNOME, and although i’d like customizability, it is mostly enough for my everyday needs. But I want to understand why people may choose other desktop environments…or why you would/would’nt use GNOME.

    I’d say great hardware and alpha software is a good description.
    I mainly bought it for reading books & manga or streaming from my Jellyfin server.
    Atm you could do that better with any basic Android tablet, but I also wanted a nice and small portable Linux pc to do stuff on.

    One big thing holding it back imo is lacking hardware acceleration. The api used (v4l2-request) is often unavailable or only implemented in patches not yet upstreamed.
