Today, the party [All-India Forward Front] is a constituent in the Left Front, an electoral alliance whose other national members at present are the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation and the Revolutionary Socialist Party.

That’s a lot of splinters. India is a large and diverse country so maybe it’s not as bad as it sounds. It is nice to see they’ve organized a united front between them!

UK or really any western “communist” parties are completely irrelevant though lol. I suppose this could be the case for these parties in India as well, but they’re at least relevant enough for the CPC to engage with them.

No totally Western communist parties are a farce. I just took an opportunity to take a cheap potshot at the local commies, didn’t mean to suggest they are in any way comparable to communist movements in the Global South. Communists in India organise some of the largest protests and strikes in the world. Plus, Kerala.

From my understanding, the Communist Party of India has been power in Kerala for a while now, and that likely makes them the most successful of the parties.
