The meme is wrong, Zelensky tried reaching a peace deal before but it was repeatedly torpedoed by the US, UK, and EU. Recently he started saying again he’s willing to give up territory and got lambasted in the Western press and clearly had his leash yanked.
In reality, the people of Ukraine and Russia, and their respective governments, want the war to end. The people in the West don’t want to keep supporting this war either.
The side “not giving consent” is the Western ruling class.
