The “angsty badass female warrior who’s also a tragic broken flower who feels her entire existence as a warrior is a horrible violation of her femininity”
I think it’s fine to have characters who don’t like or despise fighting despite being good at it, but I’ve never liked this specific variation, especially when their arcs always seem to conclude with them being “saved” (or killed) after being humbled by a dude
Ma’am, this is a Wendy’s
It’s really annoying how when men get this specific plotline the focus is usually about them getting in touch with the humanity and emotions they’ve closed themselves off of, or have been actively denied from them
but when women get this plotline, it’s a solid 50/50 chance the focus is on them getting in touch with motherhood and sexual intimacy (with a weirdly common focus on their uterus)
it’d be like if a grown child soldier man was weeping because he’s never been allowed to do big cums in people. like what the hell
it’d be like if a grown child soldier man was weeping because he’s never been allowed to do big cums in people.
I can’t think of any specific example off the top of my head, but I imagine that exists somewhere…
(Edit: Actually if I remember correctly that’s basically the premise of the book “The Sun Also Rises”, because it’s about a guy who got his dick shot off in WW1.)
On the other hand if you have a “grown child soldier man”, I imagine that the assumption is that he’s got it in at least one point in his life.
It’s like the “Solid Snake / Otacon” dichotomy.
besides the point but holy shit i hate this font
lol, in a previous post about this game someone said they really liked it
something something land of contrasts
The battle, determining male or female is the way it should be
Ah yes, the two genders: wizard and barbarian. Just as nature intended.
Honestly “Battle Royale but The Winners Pick Their Genders” seems like a better system of distribution than the one we have now.
Call me an extremist but if we’re gonna go that far then we might as well go all the way into a full
That is some seriously weird dialogue. What the actual fuck.
It probably doesn’t help that this game has a famously bad translation. The FFVII translation is a shining paragon of brilliance in comparison
I don’t know if that’s a “bad translation”, or an "Evangelion-monologue-writing"problem.
All I know is it’s pretty bad
Ah, I see, it was translated by the Harris campaign.
I remember a boss in Tenchu being like this. Is there a name for this trope?
“Weird male writer”, it’s quite common sadly
I bet there is one on TV Tropes
