US wind energy just hit a major milestone

The wind energy record came just a week before a critical UN report showed the world needs to switch to solar and wind for electricity to stave off the worst effects of the climate crisis.

In 2020, the EU and UK combined had the capacity to produce around 49% of their electricity from renewables, almost twice that of the US’ 25%, according to the International Renewables Energy Agency.
