Interestingly, while present-day Muslims assume that homosexual behaviour was outlawed by Islam, it was not until after the colonial period of the late 18th and 19th centuries that this conservative opinion became prominent. Scholars such as Dunne (1998), Kligerman (2007), Kugle (2010a), Lapidus and Lena (2014) and Nawaz (2016) insist that intolerance towards queerness and homosexuality was introduced to the Muslim world during the period of European colonialism.

not only islam, other cultures that had some level of comprehension of queerness got leveled and today are very homophobic places, like india, the exception being the philipines i think.

the inca empire had a bissexual god, other native people in the south america had what they called two spirits, can’t pinpoint exactly if that was intersex or nb, chinese religion had a gay god, india had a third sex.

wherever the colonizer set foot, they sure taught the locals to abhor queerness to the bone, for example in brasil, i don’t remember if it was the french or the portuguese considered the two spirits a aberration and sentenced those people to execution my canon.

Queerness is pervasive in all societies (because it is a natural aspect of humanity) and is therefore a #1 tool of fascists/colonizers/bigots of all stripes to sow division and advance their aims.

Is that quasi-Wojak pic supposed to represent a socially unacceptable repulsive person or something?

Removing the chanlord rage scribbling, I would have probably dated someone like that back in college and had a good time.

liberals when asked to uphold the international values of sovereignty and duty to protect that THEY created (like literally the same individuals): racism

liberals are indiscriminately leveling schools and hospitals with everyone inside, don’t think it gets more oppressive than that no matter how much you swear you killed those children for a good cause.

Like the pigs standing up at the end of animal farm i can’t tell the difference between the scratched libs foaming in the screenshots and the right-wing nutters they claim to despise.

Speaking of the “scratched” idiom I gotta say even though I’ve known of the saying awhile i just… didn’t think it was as true as it is proving to be. I thought it was maybe true of Dem politicians but not as much the voting bloc. I guess i had in my head it would take a harder scratch than “dems might not win the presidency” to make the fash bleed know what i mean?

I love how the west secretly wants to be a dictatorship by constantly comparing themselves to theocratic dictatorships. They are no friend to people.

The position, that state and church should be divided, while also everyone should have the right to believe whatever they like, is something from the classic liberalism. Not what you have now, but the kind of liberalism which was on the rise, when also the bourgeoisie got more and more influence. I guess it is understandable what I try to say.

It was also common to say by the german communists after the second world war, that it would be the communists who would defend the basic bourgeois rights (freedom of speach, freedom of arts, freedom of press, freedom of religion etc.), while the bourgeoisie would attack it constantly. What I try to say is, that ppl on those screenshots are stupid and simply don’t understand anything.

Also, where does this “white christian” thing comes from? I never heard of this and also never encountered a marxist, which would blame something on christians, which are white. I can imagine that maybe there is political tendency if you have christians, which are white, but the cause of such tendency is neither being white nor being a christian.

ISIS really earned their state dept checks.

Simultaneously served US geopolitical interests while being so utterly heinous with their cartoonish reactionary bullshit that the average American associates it with all Muslims…who are more often fierce opponents of the US, Al Qaeda, and ISIS. Their crimes could be pointed to when trying to win public support for “the war on terror”…which would coincidentally involve fighting other Muslim-majority groups.

Even libs who “opposed the wars” took the bait.

It’s the main reason I’m a communist. I’ve never heard an anti-com argument that doesn’t rely on a massive misunderstand of communist theory, or made up bullshit about communist countries.
