- Bout was released in a prisoner swap for Brittney Griner after a decade in US custody.
- Houthi rebels have been attacking commercial shipping in the Red Sea since last year.
This is the main guy the film “Lord of War” is loosely based on (with several other gun runners for inspiration).
If you know how Hollywood received that movie for slightly criticizing the US in literally a 2 minute ending, then you pretty much know why the USA only cares if he starts selling to their current targeted enemies.
They wouldn’t even bother to report on him if he started selling to the entirety of Africa again, which he also probably is.

Israel does not care the slightest about the interests of its western allies and Netanyahu considers Putin a “personal friend”.
Russia is aligned with causing as much chaos and destabilizing world order in order to grab as much land and influence in the process. In other words perfectly aligned.
This was such a bad prisoner exchange.
Maybe we can get Brittney Griner to start selling arms to other rebel groups in Yemen, that might make up for it
