Fuck F1. I was in Vegas during the 1st race they did there. The race went through the strip so I figured I’d be able to at least see bits and pieces of it from a few spots, but they went out of their way to block the view from nearly every vantage point other than their paid tickets that were like $1000+. They even went so far as covering the walkways in tarping essentially and lobbying the government to make it a crime to not be moving on the walkways. Madness…

I drove Uber back when it was a new thing. I get pinged once and it’s a fucking elementary school. I assumed my rider would be a teacher, or staff of some sort. In walks an (at most), 8 year old girl. She said her brother booked it for her, and he did it all the time. I felt quite uneasy about doing the ride, but I was in a bit of a conundrum because I know I’m of a good enough conscience that I will get her there safely, but surely if I cancelled, the brother would just book another one for her, and who knows what would happen then. In the end, I took her maybe a half mile to her home, but I felt super off about it. In hindsight, I should have just cancelled and reported the rider, but I’m not sure drivers had those resources in those days.

Honestly, I’m a man and I feel like I get brushed off for fucking everything. I had a chronic issue which turned out to be appendicitis. It got diagnosed as acid reflux and I lived with it for 2 more years before it became a medical fucking emergency and I almost died. I’ve had an ear issue that I’ve seen 2 ents and multiple doctors about. Supposedly, I’m fine. I’m sure we’re going to wait til that boils over into something worse. I’m thinking some removed put I was psychosomatic when I was trying to get the appendix thing figured out, and now they all see it in my charts and act like I’m a hypochondriac when I have some real shit that needs to be handled. It’s very annoying.
