I love cats, but I’m.allegic to them. This would be amazing. I don’t see how this could cause any problems. Do you somehow imagine deleting a protein from cat saliva will cause some feline supergerm, or create cat-monsters? Assuming the cats are healthy, this seems like an absolute win.
P.S. The comment from O.P. is silly. A lack of cat genetic engineering is not the final step before the floodgates open and we start making designer babies. 1. It’s a slippery slope argument. 2. We have already (illegally) edited human genes.
