I live in Wyoming. The upper panel is very true. The bottom panel is not even needed because there are quite a few other things that will likely kill you before the wendigo does.

Ah, I thought that the Wendigo was posting about its love of the outdoors on its blog. The internet has ruined me. I suppose it would end up a bit hungry if it was that far from its neighbours.

They want 800 Acres, the city in Isreal. They want lakes added to the desert. They want to get rid of their neighbors Palestine. That’s clearly what they meant.

Only if it has running water, a water heater, indoor plumbing, electricity, and high-speed internet.

You’re not going to need internet with all the maintenance work you’ll be doing on 800 hectare

Agreed, but really if I weren’t trying to profit on any of it… I wouldn’t touch much of any of it. Let nature do it’s work on all of it but the way in/out and living space

800 hectares is 1976 acres. That’s a huge property. What sort of maintenance would you be doing? Farming? That’s almost 5 times the size of an average farm in the US. You’re talking about a large commercial farming operation, not an “off-grid lifestyle” property.

I have several friends who live on off grid properties of 40-60 acres each.

It’s a lot of work. Like constant work. And the weather sucks in winter and summer.

I like visiting them but seeing the reality of it killed my dreams of living off grid forever.

Right don’t get me wrong I dream of this too, but I’ve also had enough experience spending time in remote places to know that this comes with a drastic lifestyle change that isn’t very realistic at least not for right now for us.

Still toy with the idea of finding a happy medium though.

Cabins are for vacations. Living in a city is way better than living in the boonies for day to day life.

Maybe, but my opinion is borne out of experience. Having to drive 40+ minutes for groceries, running a generator for power, a water pump to get running water, and shitting in an outhouse gets old.

Also, people are nice if you aren’t a shut in. I like being able to wander over to friends’ house without it being that much of a hassle.

Grow and hunt, solar panels, electric pump, and a septic tank you can pay someone to clear for you. Technology didn’t stop in the 1930’s. You can also invite people to your land, fulfilling your last problem.
