    I hate Gates and M$ as much as anyone else, but he’s very admittedly done a lot of good in this world with the wealth he’s created. Directly on climate change, he’s funded research into spraying dust (PDF warning) into the atmosphere to cool down the earth, and also recently written a book on what he thinks should be done with climate change.

    (We should absolutely criticize billionaires, but also acknowledge the ones who do good in at least an attempt to persuade some of the others)

    Edit: None of the replies actually address my points, they’re just emotional knee jerk reactions to me not writing 3 paragraphs crucifying Gates

      That honestly sounds like something that could have catastrophic consequences for the ecology. Maybe something that can be used as a very last resort to save a fraction of humanity at the cost of 90% of the other species.

      If only he could fund research on moving away from a blind consumption and profit driven economy to one which ensures that needs of everyone are met. Hmm I wonder why Mr. Wholesome Chungus Billionaire hasn’t done that yet.
