The antifa thing seems as controlled opposition by Feds to me maybe not at individual level but on an organization basis, the narrative swing changed from Dems supporting them to supporting Nazis in Ukraine in very short time.
I mean dems went from hating Title 42 to loving it. I doubt Antifa is controlled opposition by feds, in every protest I’ve been to the Black Bloc doesn’t go around asking people to join or get their email or anything (Unlike a certain Democratic Socialist organization I know) and there’s no structure or organization to truly speak to. Antifa is big on anonymity, and Black Bloc. Anyone claiming to be Antifa, as in “Representing Antifascist Action” is probably a fed, especially sus if they shirk anonymity. It’s certain that because there’s no structure and the anonymous nature of black bloc, it is easy for agent provocateurs to enter single protests. Although they’re real cagy if they haven’t seen you before. Some local fascist got unmasked trying to infiltrate black bloc here, for example.
However, the fact there’s no real further organization beyond a group posting and doxxing local fascists, that it’s usefulness to the Feds would seem to end. Antifa, meaning anyone sporting the flag logo, has been around for decades, and barely noticed until Dems found them useful, but even that could’ve been due to Trump and the Republicans hatred for the movement. Generally speaking Liberals didn’t care for antifa’s tactics even during Trump era. Liberal “Antifascism” has always been a facade, has been for the last 80+ years.
I don’t think dems not being outraged was lead by Antifa, so much as it was lead by dems going back to sleep.
Actually a controversial opinion on Reddit. After the whole anti-fa thing, it’s maddening to see Reddit bend over backwards to justify arming Nazis.

I don’t think the whole of antifa is controlled by any estimation, just saying to those in it be careful what you say as there’s rats.
Good advice for everyone.
I like your proposal of “If someone can be deemed a Nazi, they have no right to self-defense even against aggression they have no provoked”.
It works so well hand-in-hand with “Everyone deemed a Nazi is a Nazi until they can prove otherwise”.
