They’re in the hallway. The shooter isn’t going to be shooting through a wall into the hallway from a classroom; to get to the classroom they would have had to pass through the hallway first, so this shitty blanket would have had to serve as protection then.
The idea would probably be to protect them from the shooter shooting through walls/ricochet bullets
