Reminds me of the tiktok congressional hearing where congressman repeatedly kept questioning the Singaporean CEO if he was Chinese despite the CEO continuously reminding them that he was from Singapore.

They heard him and knew the difference; they simply wanted emphasize China in the decision and Biden agreed with them

The question is why there are so many Chinese people in academia in the US. And I guess we all know the answer.

The original comment says nothing about white man being racist. Maybe you should’ve tried reading the article.

She’s an Indo-American woman, a Kashmiri Pandit to be exact. A white man, Dutch probably, called out the attitude of hers, and the country she represents, towards a group of people.

As is clear by the attitude he’s witnessed on multiple occasions by said representative, he is describing how they have engaged in likening these students to some sort of hive-mind robots trying to destroy the world.

Now, what were you even trying to complain about?

    She already knows the answer.

It’s because China is investing in training new generations of scientists and engineers. And yes, some day they’ll probably have some groundbreaking tech like whatever comes after EUV lithography, and the US will be kicking itself for obstructing collaboration

When that time comes, hopefully the Chinese government won’t be as obstinate as the US is now (a very low bar to pass)

I literally can’t wait to pay 200% import tax on a Chinese CPU in 5-10 years just so I can show it off and benchmark it against Intel and AMD lmao.

Would be even funnier if it ends up being RISC-V, considering how much funding and research China threw at it in the linux space.
