Roe V Wade was overturned before the midterm. This jackass had more than half of his Presidential term to do anything about Roe V Wade. He was the vice president for Obama for 8 years and Obama promised to codify Roe V Wade into law in 2008. The reality is that he doesn’t support Roe V Wade or abortion access. He’s just lying.

Then, reiterating his position on Roe, he said, “I’ve never been supportive of, you know, ‘It’s my body, I can do what I want with it.’ But I have been supportive of the notion that this is probably the most rational allocation of responsibility that all the major religions have signed on and debated over the last thousand years.”

Biden says that he doesn’t support bodily autonomy and that he thinks that religions have authority over abortion access.

I still think it’s wild that I just learned that Samaritanism is a thing, an abrahamic religion even, that split with the Jews well before the Christians but originally, yeah, same religion. I was reading about the Druze the other day too. It’s crazy how many religions there are, i literally do not know how a person decides to believe in one

They don’t. If maybe 1% of religious people consciously chosen their religion i would be quite surprised.

The president is simultaneously a helpless smol bean that can’t do anything without a trifecta supermajority and friendly courts, and able to “do everything in his power” to the point I’m supposed to fear it.

He has the extrajudicial authority to drone strike Trump so long as he’s in another country and can classify him as a terrorist (should be trivial given the liberal views about Jan 6th). But nooooooooo that would be “uncivil”.

Hey, hey he can’t just disagree with the parliamentarian or whatever the fuck they were called. Do you think he’s the president or something?

The parliamentarian is the one I always remember whenever they pull the condescending “do you know how your own government works?” lines, since the president had the power to unilaterally (without any other input from anyone else) fire and re-hire a new parliamentarian that was more amenable to passing his agenda.

There was even historical precedent for it thanks to good old George W. Bush doing it for exactly that reason: the guy they had wouldn’t do the job, so they shit-canned him and got somebody who would! My god, look at that ruthless efficiency! He had the power to solve the problem he was faced with, and he did! With Joe Biden, everybody just whined about the parliamentarian keeping poor Joe from passing his agenda (with democratic majorities in the house and senate) until media moved on, they eventually rotated villains to Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema, etc.

Liberals are fucking jackasses. They understand this shit worse than anybody, but they’re so condescending and up their own asses that they’ll just keep burping up these thought-terminating cliches like they’re making a point.

Solid af podcast. They can have some cringe takes, especially towards AES, but they interview some great socialists, they’re genuinely funny, and they are good people at the end of the day.

While Jake doesn’t really try to play the hard insurrectionist revolutionary, he got arrested during the George Floyd uprising and fought zionists on the barricades at UCLA. As far as podcasters go, that’s pretty cool.

Honestly as much as he gets hate here for the right reasons I still respect Robert Evans for being on the front lines against fascists back in 2020 when he got his hand broke by some Oregon Nazis.

We should not judge everyone solely on their worst opinions. (with obvious exceptions)

Of a similar opinion. Once I learned of his bullshit with the feds I don’t suggest his podcast or listen anymore, but if he were to be reporting on twitch on a protest I would def tune in again.

This is true. I still massively respect his work in terms of actual praxis. Their opinions tend to be solid as long as you don’t ask them much on AES countries.
