It’s simple really, when germany leading industries turned into monopolies they stopped investing and developing the productive forces and instead focused on maximizing shareholders profits, aka share buybacks. All these neoliberals internalized the “end of history” and are slowly getting eaten by the ones that didn’t.
The effects of which have combined with the own-goal of ever higher energy prices means the monopolies which were still viable ten or even five years ago no longer are.
