Fuck karma.
My original accounts from pre-2010 had 5 digit karma. That was before uncapped vote counts. They numbers used to be a faked representation of actual up/down votes. I think it’s supposed to be closer to real values now? I haven’t been keeping up to date on redditisms tbh.
I got into the practice of nuking accounts every few years. I used to post a lot of TV show discussion threads because nobody else does. And there was no automod bots back then. I think I posted quite a few first season of shows that went on to become quite popular. I used to feel bad for deleting that content but not anymore. I feel kinda vindicated now.
I have a karma of 153k but I’m now in lurk mode on Reddit. I usually only browse it from my phone, and the moment my app closes on 30th June, Reddit is dead to me.
heh…Ghislaine Maxwell’s account still in the top 20 for most karma.
Something wrong with your numbers?
I got this (took on a different user name for Lemmy):

Doesn’t matter anyway they perma-banned me for posting the navy seals copypasta

~8k/98k
Pushing 700k with the oldest account, but several people have the password and have posted on it over the years. I’m just the terminal steward. Apparently that’s good for top 2000 in comment karma. I will probably try to sell the account at some point once the heat dies down.
Link karma 2,351, comment karma 447,321. I’m not entirely gone from Reddit yet though, there are still some niche communities over there that I like that haven’t moved or gone dark. I expect I won’t be entirely gone until they remove old.Reddit, which I expect will come sooner rather than later at this point.
