Hey, I’m not certain how the connection works precisely. Does it appear when someone searches for #fuckcars on Mastodon if I include #fuckcars in the title or content of a post at the Lemmy?
Lemmy doesn’t federate hashtags so they’ll appear in the post on other fediverse services but they won’t appear in hashtag feeds/searches.
EDIT: FYI, there’s a cross-post button on lemmy. it’s the button that looks like a copy button (A square overlaid and offset over another square).
I used the cross-post button, and it made the “cross-posted” part
ah ok. My bad then. It used to display it differently.
As an additional question, is it possible for me to follow a Mastodon account on Lemmy so it appears as part of my subscribed feed?
In particular I want to follow Never Obsolete (@256)
Lemmy users do not have a mechanism for following users, I think. Only communities (which are also seen as groups, based on the software).
Wonder how difficult that’d be to add in?
No. Lemmy doesn’t support following users (right now?) It’s been requested and kbin supports it so maybe it’ll come after everything stabilizes.
