Uses crowd-sourced database and degenerates into an anti-capitalist rant at the end. Some good points though.
A New Study Quantifies The Extent of Extractive Capitalism’s Colonial Violence Against Indigenous Peoples Worldwide
Yeah, who would have thought something like this could be a critique of capitalism. Mindblowing.
Big difference between a critique and a rant. And no need to be a dick, friend.
not really a rant tho? It’s just pointing out factually that Capitalism (as a system) does not care about anything other than “making profit number go up eternally”, so rich people, capitalists, and corporations will do anything to make that number go up regardless of the consequences it has for others.
In this case, it’s mining and fracking companies who want resources, completely ignoring the indigenous peoples who live there for the sake of money, and who are outright using violence to make those groups stop opposing them
because they’re getting in the way of those companies making money
I can’t see a critique on capitalism here that doesn’t full on go “actually it’s the fact that Capitalism isn’t really beholden to anything but making more money, all of the time, forever, no matter what, regardless of who or what it hurts to do so”.
