I would prefer something based on Debian, like Ubuntu or PopOS, but I’m open for other suggestions as well, as I’m looking for a distro to daily-drive on my new Framework laptop.

I first considered an Ubuntu based distro for my Framework laptop since that’s what I was most familiar with, but I don’t like what Canonical is doing and don’t want to make myself rely on that company.
Next I considered Debian, but although it is an excellent choice for servers, it is not the best for a desktop OS imo. There are Debian derivatives that make it more suitable for desktops though, like MX Linux.
However I opted to try another distro family entirely and went with Fedora KDE. I’m very happy with it. It has had few issues for me, none of them serious. I was most worried about software compatibility since Ubuntu is probably the best supported distro but Fedora still is supported by most programs. If not with an rpm or via dnf, then there is probably a flatpak or app image. Upgrading to a new version of Fedora has also been flawless and simple the 2 times I had to do it so far.
