What Linux distribution or distributions do you personally use?
I myself am a daily Void user. I used to use Devuan, but wanted to try rolling release and ended up loving Void!

@vortexal @owatnext try POP_Os they are hardware friendly and it is ubuntu based
POP!_OS was one of the distros I was looking into but there are two reasons I’m not currently thinking about using it. First, the main reason I want to switch to a different distro, is because Ubuntu isn’t very optimized. When I tried Porteus, it booted fast and everything loaded much faster than Ubuntu, but I obviously can’t use it because of the WiFI adapter issue. The second reason, is that I want a different DE and I liked cinnamon when I used porteus, so that or something similar like LXDE might be what I want.
You can just install cinnamon on Ubuntu if you can figure out your driver issues.
I know I can install cinnamon on Ubuntu but like I said, I want to use a more optimized OS, so it would be better if I just switched to a different distro that’s also compatible with cinnamon or something similar. I’m actually thinking about using Lubuntu, assuming it functions like an optimized version of Ubuntu but with LXQt as it’s DE.
Also, the drive issues was with Porteus and not Ubuntu. The WiFi adapter works fine with Ubuntu but on porteus, it would load the driver into the kernel but then not use it for some reason. When I looked into it, people said it was an issue with the driver not being compatible but Porteus was trying to use the same driver that Ubuntu uses, so I don’t know what else to do but at the same time I’m probably not going to try using Porteus again. Just in general, Porteus seems way to complicated for me to use, at least at this moment in time.
