Do you really believe Russia would kneecap itself like this? Do you believe Assad also gassed his own troops right after they took over a town from enemy terrorists?

I really believe literally anyone else besides someone parroting russian talking points all day.

So you’re saying you believe literally anyone else besides someone saying something you disagree with?

Don’t say the rest of the world because it isn’t it’s just the Westoid and the anglosphere, the rest, and therefore the majority of the world either gives a fuck or thinks this is a NATO provocation. Stop afirming your elite group of bpurgeois psychopaths represents the whole world.

I just love when leftists nominally disavow the US and then take statements from the Ukrainian military and US mouthpieces at face value.

Why would Russians blow up the dam that is under their control, protected mainly their territory and supplies Crimea with water? Smell like yet another Nordstream nonsense. Not to mention previous threats and attacks made by the UA forces on Crimean-related infrastructure.

Also if you look at the videos the damage is to the upper part of the dam, pretty shallow.

EDIT: Also here is the Russia’s official note to UN Security council from october warning of possibility of UA sabotaging the dam. And the WaPo article from december where UA side admits they do have plans and excercises for exactly that.

It’s the same thing as Nord Stream.

Cannot be sure yet, but one possible reason is scorched earth. Perhaps they know they’ll be leaving the area soon.

Another would be to make it harder for Ukrainian troops to cross that area.

Doubt on both, the Ukrainian counteroffensive is somewhat mirage with even UA sources being unsure if it actually did happened, and Russian forces are afaik not currently making any moves. Also it will made it actually easier to cross in a short while. Finally, there’s the issue of water for Crimea, it’s strategic objective.

Or it might be actual acident caused by 30 years of bad maintenance.
