Early last month Valve put up a Release Candidate for the next version of Proton, which it seems went completely under the radar. Due to this they've not had much feedback for Proton 8.0-5 so time to get testing.
With the great sales of the Steam deck no the will not the tried it with the Steam boxes and it was a flop then the doubled down and did it with Steam Decks and honestly you could already do it on steam on Linux before the Steam deck launched Proton was a thing or custom wine versions. This is what makes Linux so great and since the Steam Deck was such a big hit the will just pump more money into Proton and game compatibility. It is so nice i can run every game i own in my Steam Library i do not play any games that have issues with anti cheat software.
