“I have lots of progressive ideas in my head, I’m actually immune to propaganda despite my actual behavior that is entirely consistent with capitalist ideology”

AOC buying a Tesla isn’t “weird” or “anti-socialist”, rationally navigating marketplaces to find loopholes is within the ideological framework of being a technocratic PMC under neoliberalism. The entire idea of ‘tax rebates for electric vehicles’ is probably one of Biden’s main accomplishments lol

AOC’s mysterious death in a solo car accident countdown clock starts ticking

brace-cowboy “I fuckin’ told ya, bro! Didn’t I tell ya! Shoulda’ listened to me!”

“I drive a Tesla but I’m not a freak, I’m just exploiting the tax rebate lol” ideology isn’t what you believe, its what you do

You shouldn’t buy the overpriced, defect ridden car from the company run by the mobbed up business psycho plutocrat of the 21st century, Tesla.

You should buy the overpriced, defect ridden car from the company run by the mobbed up business psycho plutocrat of the 20th century, Ford.

He’s just recycling the same schtick that gave us Bush’s roads full of Hummers in the early 2000s. The Cybertruck is the Zoomer’s version of the H2 / Suburban / 4Runner.

AOC buying a Tesla is completely on brand for her art house progressive PMC aesthetics and values, which she has demonstrated again and again. I’d have been more surprised if she had bought an actually good hybrid like a RAV4.

who gives a fuck, tying ideological expression to product or media choices is a mistake. gotten to the point where people think reading one book but not another is activism.

I mean, I wouldn’t buy a Tesla, but doesn’t this fall under “no ethical consumption under capitalism”? I’m not personally entirely thrilled by that phrase, but I’ve heard it a lot.

Just to get some clarity, is the argument here that buying a Tesla is capitalist ideology because Elon? Is it that being motivated by “muh tax break” is fundamentally the same mentality as the bourgeoisie? Or is this it driving a car instead of taking public transit?

The middle one I think. Probably trying to make some point about purposefully choosing to participate in capitalist social reproduction

That doesn’t really make much sense to me even though I hate Elon M*sk and would love another reason to dunk on his worshippers

Yea idk what op is on either tbh

If Tesla made good EVs and the state is subsidizing it and I need an ev, I’ll take advantage of it lol, motivations behind the subsidy be damned

I mean, don’t most of us do that? I’ve been exploiting loopholes in Costcos warranty policy for years.

Telsa sucks and all but idk how this is any different from her buying a CRV besides aesthetics.

I mean yeah but also is buying a Tesla worse than buying any other kind of car? This is why I bought a motorcycle from Russia Kazakhstan instead.
