I’ve been too busy to keep up with world events, and there’s definitely some important stuff I’m entirely unaware of. So fill me in please.

SSC Napoli just won their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Dutch and Belgian supermarket employees have been striking for some weeks now, leading to unrest.

Sudan is having a civil war.

But overall it seems like the past week or two have been kind of slow, at least in the West. Ukraine and Russia are still at war with the focus on Bakhmut, but news about the war is nothing more than an annoying buzz right now. No other major events seem to be unfolding (in the media).

Oh so Napoli won, expecting it but zamn, they were preparing weeks in advance for the feasts, they don’t joke with celebrations down there, many people lose their fingers with firecrackers

Alzo bakhmut has been lasting more than Stalingrad now, so there’s that.

Edit My neapolitan friend sent me some videos and holy shit the French protests in comparison are child’s play, there are bombs exploding in the street, colored smoke everywhere, the sounds of a battle

It’s scary lol, wish there was a way to embed videos over here on the lemmy.ml

I highly recommend the YouTube channel First Thought run by our beloved comrades YUGOPNIK, Hakim and JT. Very digestible vids (~6 mins) about the most important bits of international news, every other day.
