Nah this isn’t it, you need the full-blown session, which these aren’t. gamescope-session is literally Steam Deck’s UI, if you run HDR under the micro compositor the colors will just look washed out and wrong.
KDE is coming with official support eventually™, but without it it’s not true HDR.
You need the game scope session, which there’s only a package for Nobara and I think Arch too but don’t quote me on that
And the session will require you to log out, which can be a massive pain in the ass.
