QAnon across the pond. Feels like Nazis round two, so good that it is being nipped in the bud.

While QAnon sadly is also getting more prevelavent in Germany, these people are all “Reichsbürger”, they believe the German Empire is still in charge and want to bring back the monarchy.

Because what could possibly be better for the people than being ruled by some inbred twats.

Fr I am ashamed I actually know people who believe Germany is not independent because the constitution is not called “constitution” (NE&UK would like to take a word) or how Poland should give back all territory to restore the 1914 borders.

Oh! These sound like our sovereign citizens. They basically insist that they have found “one weird trick” to make it so they don’t have to follow US law. Then when they break the law, they insist that the courts have no jurisdiction because of some mumbo jumbo with fringes on the flag and maritime law. It is a mix of amusing and annoying.

The people you deal with sound similar to the Reichsbürger. They also think Germany right now is not an independent state, but a company ran by the US. They have also proof. Our ID card is called “Personalausweis”, while the last part “Ausweis” is just short for ID card, or passport, the first word “Personal” can also be used for employees of a company. So check mate, the state already acknowledges that we are just a company…

Not sure if I would call Germany a company per se. But the United States is essentially a corporate state and has occupied and to a large extent controlled the progression of Germany since the end of the war, and even more ‘wholly’ controlled since reunification. Most EU countries are controlled/ran by the US in a similar way. Some have more military, some have more corporate/financial ties. In any case, the respective leaders are still subservient to the US interests, which a layman might describe as “a company ran by the US” in contrast to a truly sovereign state with its own interests put first. It’s hardly a leap of logic on that front. Just look at the events of 2022.

To the rest of your comment…they do sound off the wall on those other things.

If only the world was so simple. Ignorance is bliss.
