I can see where the liberals are coming from. In contrast to soulless dystopias like Russia or China, living in the free West affords us all the pleasures of life one could ever imagine. You just have to spend 8x5 hours per week working to pay the rent that always goes up and never down, stay overtime to get rid of your student loan debt, pee into bottles on the job, ration food and medicine, hope not to catch the seasonal new or resurrected virus, somehow get through the next few winters without cooking or heating, and manage not to think too much about climate change as forests near your city turn into flaming infernos, and then feel free to travel*, read*, assemble*, consume*, or run your mouth* as much as you like!
