    No one said there wasn’t violence. Not even the Chinese government, who, again, calls it the June 4 incident and it isn’t nearly as censored as people think.

    Remember that they weren’t just “protests”. It was essentially a foreign-backed coup attempt and the “protestors” themselves killed plenty of people, including police and soldiers, who were instructed to avoid using violence until the CPC realized that it wasn’t resolving amicably. Think about just how much more death and destruction would have ensued at the hands of the US army if a Chinese-backed coup attempt on DC happened for as many days as the Tiananmen protests happened. The entire city would have probably gotten carpet bombed. Personally, I think they handled it way better any Western country would have.

    Also, none of the pics you posted showed anyone intentionally getting run over, or even a picture of anyone being run over, so not sure what you mean by “all the pictures of the people being smushed.” There’s one pic of someone with their legs crushed, but it’s out of context and hard to say what actually caused it or the specific circumstances.
