    Yeah, I am not sure from this articles what the “data transfer” part means. They say in another article:

    Facebook transfers data from its European users to its U.S.-based servers in order to serve those users more targeted ads.

    So I understand that this is not about social network data (posts, comments etc.) for which you consent to be published all over the place, but more with the secret tracking/behavioral data that is used for ad tracking and surveillance that they don’t have your consent. If that is the case then the problem is with the way they make money and not with the honeypot product, that is the social network.

    But yeah, many US businesses (e.g. Google) will be affected by this as Surveillance Capitalism is the main business model for many of them. And this is the best part :)

        Basically FB does the dirty work and allows merchants to keep their hands clean.

        Yeah, and they are “too big to fail” so they can do whatever they want. I hope the EU will show that this is not the case.
