    Genshin Impact, one of the world’s hottest mobile video games, has all the characteristics of a Japanese invention: giant robots; human-size swords; characters with huge eyes and spiky, rainbow-colored hair; and a puzzling fixation on women in maid outfits.

    There’s just one catch: It’s Chinese.

    I better see this exact criticism when the US makes media about other cultures. Like pretty much every Disney movie.

    Also, are they aware that there is a lot of overlap between Chinese and Japanese cultures? It’s like wondering why Swedish and Danish media look similar. Or English and Scottish. Not to mention that robots, swords, and spiky technicolor hair are not traditional Japanese culture, it’s a modern thing and very much globalist.
