    I was mostly joking. They have apparently been using unarmed chests bumping to assert disputed borders. I gotta hand it to them, it’s a great way to avoid violence, but it sounds rather comedic.

      Oh? I recall they were arming up with medieval polearms, after incidents with pipes and chains. Anything short firearms to literally avoid the accusation of “they shot first.” But it is violence. Border guards on both sides have died, at this point, if I recall correctly.

        From a quick look around the Internet, it sounds like my impression was outdated. Apparently around September 2020, China started carrying some outdated weapons. There was also a clash that got very lethal a while ago. However, the intent still is to keep the conflict low key and not let it spiral out of control over some marginal land.
