Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon.
This is what i call a feature packed release.
For those who don’t know, this feature will allow gnome to remember the positions of applications so they’re restored when the app is started again.
From the AMA, someone suggested
Yeah some Up/Download + simple management API would be really nice. Since Proton is loved a lot among programmers, I’m very sure there’ll be a lot of people in the community to create some implementation their own (including me)
And Andy(CEO) replied
This is actually good/important input. We went this direction with Proton VPN on Linux and the first version was a community built version which as OK. Eventually, we had to take the effort in-house to ensure it was sufficiently well maintained and keeping up with the latest features, but it was still a goo way to get started. We will indeed consider this for Proton Drive also, although it is a more complicated product (includes complex parts like sync engine and version conflict resolution logic, etc). -Andy
Also, when pointed about Henry,Andy replied
Yes, we know Henry, he should have access to the API specs/docs and he has a direct line of communication with us. -Andy
So all hope is not i would say. And i would prefer rclone and apps based over than than electron wrappers tbh.

Reading the STF news feels exciting after a few weeks of them not present. It makes me so happy that GNOME and Libadwaita, along with flatpaks are attracting a lot of developers into contriibuting and experimenting their ideas.
One less decent politician. RIP
I personally use the proton-vpn-gtk-app from AUR ( the 1.3 section from wiki ). And in cachyOS, i only had to do
paru -S proton-vpn-gtk-app
I too use torrents if possiblez but sometimes, the movie we seek maynot be available or won’t have enough seeders. Sites like this, and others mentioned in fmhy are useful at those times.
With the speed HDR prep works are going on, we probably get usable HDR in linux around 2025
Kerala have a big contribution to this since all the school IT labs + government offices here use ubuntu or its slightly modified versions. Wish if every state did so.
This was the distro that introduced me to linux, followed by raspbian. Brings so much memories.
Tbh, this is just one of the many things that will lead to stable HDR support. But its nice to see these get solved one step at a time.
Glad they also started to include images which makes easy to really understand the changes, especially the UI related ones.
This picture somehow reminds me of Mad Max movies.
I think GNOME 47 would be a big one, and my favourite.
Gnome 47 will be a massive upgrade for sure. And everything I have read are only improvements and not regressions. Many of generally unnoticed ones like in the area of accessibility, thanks to STF.
Nightly can be configured by advanced testers to use custom prompts and any compatible chatbot, such as llamafile, which runs on-device open models, including open-source ones. We are excited for the community to share interesting prompts, chatbots, and models as we make this a better user experience. We are also looking at how we can provide an easy-to-set-up option for a private, fully local chatbot as an alternative to using third-party providers.
I think they could’ve waited until they properly tried implementing a local llm. Anyway glad to know that we have options and gonna try this.
It is a matrix client. It is maintained by element team itself and still in beta. You can read more and view the source code in the Github repo
I used to be on pure Arch for 2.5 years, but currently uses cachyOS. And its so much removes the pain points of arch, as well as giving super fast performance.
Most of the speed is due to them compiling packages with the x86-64-v3 and x86-64-v4 instruction set and LTO.
That means the CPU need to be little newer to take advantage of, too
