Day by day, year by year, people put up with more bullshit, more bullshit gets normalized. Let me give you a slightly different perspective. If you convince yourself to think and do as you’ve explained, the next generation will convince themselves that even more degrading treatment is acceptable for the sake of employment. We will all be stripped of any dignity we have left. We’ll all be slaves in everything but name.
Whenever positive systemic change happened in history, the events were rebranded as “fighting for freedom”. Literally all positive systemic change happened this way throughout the history. French peasents beheaded soldiers, that’s how they got democracy. If they had failed, the events would have been known as a “terrorist attack”. But the important thing is, there has to be a social movement behind the actions. Individual attacks may spark the initial flame, but if there is no movement behind it the flame won’t last for long. That’s the thing you are right about. No matter how many times this happens, it will not result in any change unless there is also a social movement behind it.

Iddon’t have a pebble watch but I find my smartwatch useful for reducing my screen time. when I get a notification, I look at my watch and don’t do anything else if it is not important, doesn’t require immediate answer. When I don’t have my watch, I look at my phone to see the notification, and check other stuff while I have my phone, like Instagram end Lemmy, and a single notification takes 20 minutes of my life.
