Just out of curiosity what would changing all of my important account logins achieve if the leak was a healthcare provider that doesn’t have anything other than my medical history and insurance card (I never sign up for “patient portals” and the like.)? Not trying to go against what you’re saying as I already do most of what you’re recommending there. In fact I actively avoid 2FA by SMS in favor of Authentication apps (such as Aegis), and use a password manager to randomly generate all my logins.

I use randomly generated aliases for every service I use ;P

It does in fact look interesting, I’ll have to spin it up on my test machine and play with it. I’m not entirely sure it will do what I want because I dont see anything about it in the docs but I’m also skimming them at the moment.

Mailcow also has randomly generated aliases’, and thats kind of where my issue lies. When other users on my server set up any kind of alias, if that alias gets a spam email thats sent to quarantine, that email gets sent to the catch all email I have set up, which is annoying as the original person who made the alias for some reason doesn’t get the email. I wanted to file a bug report for this but GitHub told me my post was too long because of how much log info their template asks me to provide so I threw my hands up and said I want a different project because the only software I host that gives me consistent small stupid issues like this is mailcow, such as the time it deleted dhparams.pem for no reason and caused dovecot to restart constantly, or the time the webUI broke and someone tried to convince me it was because I was using Fedora Server instead of RHEL or Debian. It doesn’t help that their support forum only has a very small amount of people who are able to help, and their “live chat” is hosted on telegram which my phone number has been banned from. Its just very frustrating.

This looks like a neat project, I just spun up one of their local instances. Unfortunately I’m not seeing the ability for users to be able to generate their own aliases, it looks like an admin-only feature. Although the project does seem young so I’m curious to see where it will go in the future. I may be able to switch in the future If I dont find a better solution soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

While Nobara was great at NVIDIA drivers, they seemed to have completely gotten rid of WACOM drivers, and that was a dealbreaker for me

I don’t like it because its not actually FOSS. It includes closed source software (Sandboxed Gservices, Android Auto, etc.) which completely defeats my main goal of wanting to take power away from big corpos. I dont want that to even be an option in an OS I’d recommend because if the easy way is there lazy people who dont care about their privacy will use it. Ive actually installed a few custom Roms for friends and their phones always end up with Insta/Snap/Discord installed and it just defeats the whole purpose…

Try emailing manufacturers and asking if they already have support, if they dont request that they start or you won’t consider their parts for your next build. Your wallet is a powerful tool that can cause companies to bend to your will if you know how to use it.

Also saw in another comment thread you want your banking apps and thats why you don’t use gOS or cOS. Have you tried seeing if their web app (website) is any good? Mine recently restructured theirs from an early 2000s design to a native webapp that can be installed from Mull/Chromite. Might be worth checking into

The Cinny client for Matrix is pretty good if you want to replace discord 1:1. There will be differences though but it should make the transition easier.
