I’m pretty cheesed about the changes Reddit is making, particularly to their API. I’m a long-time user of rif is fun. It’s not clear how the changes will impact that app specifically, but the steps they’re taking are clearly following in Twitter’s footsteps and I’m already migrating off of there.
I think corporate social media is under huge pressure to generate money, since they aren’t growing massively anymore (because they reached market saturation).
And they’re good at making money short term. Sucks for the users.
